Complete and utter bull****. If I didn't love the game of basketball so much, I would have abandoned this crooked ass league long ago. Still might.
I wish the players could make a pool for a bounty on Draymond Green. Dude is so dirty and protected that it's disgusting for the league.
The favoritism and unequal treatment from the NBA is despicable. You know that Dwight wouldve been suspended for the rest of the playoffs if he did what Green did. Or if Adams kicked Curry somehow in the nuts.
Freaking NBA, once again trying to stock the odds on whomever is their golden child at the time. Total BS. Harden got a suspension for a much lighter nut tap.
Once again the nba proves what a joke it is. Shameless and despicable. Draymond will not even get one more flagrant from here on no matter what he does.
Did anyone else catch Warriors nuthugger Ethan Sherwood Strauss' take on this? He actually wrote, in an opinion article masquerading as news, that Green should not be subject to the same punishment as Jones simply because he's more important to his team. Absurdity 1: Dahntay Jones was suspended, so Draymond Green must be suspended The Cleveland Cavaliers' Jones, a player whom Green once characterized as someone who "don't play," has been suspended from Game 4 of the East finals because of possibly accidental contact with Bismack Biyombo's groin. The reigning idea is that Jones' suspension equals precedent for Green's and that you can't punish them any differently. This line of logic ignores how the punishments aren't close to similar. Jones only participates in garbage time, so the NBA is making a decision -- to keep Jones out of the game -- that Cavs coach Tyronn Lue would likely make anyway. And by merely suspending Jones, the league was doing him a massive favor. The league could have added an additional fine, for instance. Given Jones' particular salary situation, a suspension results in an $80.17 fine. That's not a typo. The upshot of all this is that Jones is out 80 bucks. So a common argument today is that an All-Star should miss an important Western Conference finals game because a 12th man in another series ultimately suffered the cost of a parking ticket. While reasonable people can certainly make the case that punishments shouldn't depend on a player's status, a player's status certainly informs the gravity of punishment. Now, star players can just "incidentally" kick other players in the nuts and only get a slap on the wrist, essentially. What a floodgate to open. Good job, NBA.
Someome on Gs has some dirt on Silver or a big guy in the association...no illegal screens called, unanimous votes, flagrants, no suspensions...
San Antonio's CBS station showed clips of both Jones' and Greene's groin shots on their sports segment. the sports anchor said "Jones gets a suspension and Greene gets a fine. Why!?! Greene's a star. Jones isn't. I guess S. A. sports reporting ain't 100% bad.
What's really insane about the non-suspension is that commentators and analysts everywhere were saying that the NBA had painted itself in a corner through the Jones suspension and would lose all integrity if it didn't suspend Green. Then the NBA turns around and shows it couldn't give a rats ass about integrity and continues to collect everyone's hard-earned because they know they are the #1 game in town when it comes to basketball. When will the Association change its name to NBE - National Basketball Entertainment?
