what about bobon marjanovic and festus ezeli. weird. i thought they'd be hot commodities. but no one's even talking about them.
I am assuming the OP is panicking because we need to try for a back up C and PG. Gordon and Bev have injury histories lets wish them good health and we need another play maker when Harden rests, right now that will fall on a healthy Gordon or Goudelock. Dedmon seems decent for a back up C despite his fouling history, I know he did not do much in college but he is a high energy player. Maybe we will be lucky and keep Dmo.
The point I am making is that we need another playmaker or else we might be depending on Goudelock and I am not happy with that.
How do you know they're not spending the 10 million on the biggest needs? There are plenty of possibilities with trades. Morey is clearly not done this summer. Why declare they're tanking when all of he moves aren't in yet? People are jumping the gun, being impatient and drawing all kinds of conclusions without all the information at hand. Let's see what kind of trade Morey pulls off.
I can see Morey looking to bring here Llull (and Gentile) or Rubio and trade Pat with Trevor and other assets for something "special" (hope in what Codman is saying). Maybe Boban is worth a look but not sure...and there're still some interesting players out there Spoiler Crabbe, Sullinger, Ezeli, Harkless, Cole, Boban, Galloway we can create max room...we'll see.
GP needs to work on his jump shot especially if he is going to play with Harden. Who knows when he will start making shots regularly, maybe in a few months, maybe years, that's why he was undrafted. I am glad Morey picked him up, but we need another playmaker that can shoot that does not have a injury history. I am hoping we can get at least 70 games each out of Bev and Gordon and both healthy for the playoffs.
You don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Just because something hasn't been reported doesn't mean something didn't happen. You're acting like Morey is sitting in his office playing online poker while the rest of the league is still signing players. He's got a plan.
I have a little filter I like to apply to situations like this called "who was actually available?" If you take out all the names who just re-signed with their teams, here are the point guards and centers that were actual possibilities: Seth Curry Roy Hibbert Al Jefferson Brandon Jennings Rajon Rondo Cole Aldrich Austin Rivers Ian Mahinmi Bismack Biyombo Joakim Noah Matthew Dellavedova Jeremy Lin DJ Augustin Ish Smith Timofey Mozgov Zaza Pachulia Which one of those guys would represent a real improvement over Beverley and Capela for a Harden/D'Antoni system? Biyombo, probably; Rondo, if used right; Noah's a dice roll. Who else? Otherwise, you're just signing backups, and there are still decent backups out there.
