Four games left, all on the road, before the trade deadline. I personally think the Rockets and House are playing a game of chicken. If the Rockets don't add a wing at the deadline, you might see them give up on House long-term and just add him for the rest of the season. If they do add a legit wing, House may lose some real money for the rest of the season.

Isn't he a RFA if the rockets sign him for the rest of the season? If so, I wouldn't call that "giving up on him long-term".

That is correct. But the Rockets face serious luxury tax issues and other teams know it. It could be very similar to the Golden State-Patrick McCaw situation, though I'm not sure yet that House would get offers beyond the minimum.

No one was paying Ariza 15 mil and when is the last time LRAM played on the Clippers. I wish they were here but it is what it is.

It's all going to depend on how he plays if/when he comes back. Thanks for the clarification!

This is the most reasonable guess, for sure.

I read in the internet a couple of weeks ago. House's agent wanted 5.4 million payroll for next season alone.
    It can't be verified.

Do miss the brick-less-fest. 40% from 3 is probably highest among Rockets players.

You think they might cave and give House the rest of the MLE if no good buyout opportunities occur?

I was thinking that's what House's agent may be banking on.

I agree but it would be interesting what Morey's analytics show about him. I would wager that the numbers are in his favor because at every turn Morey has tried to get long term leverage on House. House's agent requested to sign him to the end of the year and the Rockets rejected that. Signing to the end of the year wont affect the Luxury Tax

House will take minimum salary for the rest of season. Morey and fans are afraid to lose him in July.
I knew it's fair for House, but sometimes business doesn't think too much on fairness.

Morey has Faried and Rivers to re-sign in July.

That's what I wondered after posting. Yeah, but since we play three tough teams, we just might rack up some wins.

If we were going up against Phoenix, Oladipo-less Indiana, and Atlanta, we'd be doomed.

I agree we could use him on this team , but we don’t need to cater to his agent/s... they have time to see what’s out there and then go from there. Hopefully they can find a middle ground and find a way to bring him back , but the Rockets should be in the driver’s seat NOT D-House or his agent!!
