Yep. The Rockets gave up the 2013 Memphis first rounder that they received in the Shane Battier-Hasheem Thabeet trade. The Timberwolves ended up using that pick to select Gorgui Dieng last year.
here's a better recap of the trade from Bima himself. We didn't give up our own pick, but rather the MEM 2013. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6200348&postcount=324 [edit] was still researching ... thx for the clarification, Bima.
Yep. That MIN second rounder the Rockets got in the deal was then later packaged with Hasheem Thabeet and Jonny Flynn to get Marcus Camby, who nearly helped get the Rockets into the playoffs that season. The Rockets then flipped Camby for Toney Douglas, two second rounders (the first of which has become Nick Johnson) and $2 million cash. Not bad, turning Brad Miller and the last seven weeks of Aarons Brooks and Shane Battier (both of whom were gone at the end of the 2010-11 season) into Goran Dragic, Donatas Motiejunas, Nick Johnson and another second round pick.
Wished it ended there. But Dragic turned into Lin and Lin and our 2015 pick turned into cap flexibility. Hopefully we get Dragic back for some combination of assets that would not have been here if he had never left.
