It's hard to classify something as a tragedy when a guy will walk away with at least $87 million but it almost feels like it. The Colts were stupid to fire Hall of Fame GM Bill Polian after that fluke 2-14 season when Manning was injured. Polian had been with the Colts since 1998 when he drafted Manning with the first overall pick leading to the greatest winning stretch in Colts history -- second only to the Patriots dynasty during that frame. Surely, you don't fire a GM with such a streak especially when you have another first overall pick and the chance to bridge the rebuild between Manning with a prospect like Luck.
