winston's defense was NEVER great. The Bucs and mike smith's defense relies on takeaways. And in the era of a pass happy league with often called pi's and holding calls. That can often spell disaster for any defense. What happened in week 1 aganist the bears was glennon was 8/12 on 3rd down. But the bears turned the ball over 4 times. And thats what decided the game Today case keenum another backup qb was AMAZING on 3rd down. and the bucs defense could not get off the field( the bucs defense is terrible when they can not force a takeaway). and were in a hole early. Winston also has one of the worst olines in the nfl besides russell wilson, so he feels he has to force the issue and make something instead of throw it away Most qbs have a horrible o-line or a bad defense, winston has both
Rodgers is 0-7 in OT and Dalton is 2-2-2. I'm curious to see if Rodgers wins and if the Olivia Munn Overtime curse becomes a thing.
he's 0-7 because he's only thrown 6 passes dude. he doesn't win the coin toss and the defense loses. stupid stat. finally gets a chance to win and look what he does. pack didn't deserve that win, but i'm glad they finally beat the bengals. crazy dalton has a winning record against the GOAT
Yeah I get what you're saying. I just thought the defense played great down the stretch last year (I remember them holding Seattle to 6 points) but yeah they were garbage today. Overall I like Winston. I can see why he has to take more risks when his defense is bad. I would say he's similar but lesser version of Luck, who has the worst O-line, defense, and running game combination in the league.
I understand that, I was just shocked he hasn't won any overtime games at all. As a Cowboys fan, my PTSD made me misremember that playoff game but IIRC he did that in regulation. At this point if you don't give Rodgers his due, then you don't know what good quarterbacking looks like. Anyone else think Romo sounds like Charlie from IASIP when he gets excited? So glad they got rid of Simms.
Yeah my bad man. I wasn't really trying to attack you, sorry if it sounded like that lol. That stat is always brought up without context. Romo is great man. Already one of the best commentators in the NFL, and maybe in even all of sports. Great analysis, dude is a natural. Huge upgrade over Simms lol
future 49er. struggling a lot. still appears to be injured. o-line trash also. hasn't looked good at all this season. btw, if y'all wanna talk overrated, it's derek carr
Raiders laying a stinker in primetime and here I thought they could challenge the Patriots for the AFC crown.
they will be alright but their secondary is hot trash. amerson is garbage, and sean smith could get burned by a 4.7 dude on a vertical route
chris thompson is one of the better players i've seen in open space. he just runs and follows blocks so well conservative jay gruden got bailed out by that screen
He's really good... and I predict his success will start a trend of new former QB color commentators who prefer the booth vs. coaching or becoming a GM. Talking mainly about Peyton, Brady... then consider Philip Rivers (who would be odd/crazy), Drew Brees, Carson Palmer. Aikman, Collinsworth, Gruden are all better than Simms, but still could be replaceable (especially Aikman).
Aikman is terrible. CC has also gotten worse since he started overpromoting PFF. Gruden's fine with me, but he loves his Gruden camp QBs way toooo much. Funny that you mention the former QB color commentators cause Cutler is probably gonna go there after this year and if it's anything like his QB play, not looking forward to it. Not sure I'd like Brady doing it either, he comes off as condescending at times. Brees seems like a good one. I believe they've brought in Peyton a couple times, not sure if it was NFL or college, for like one of those quick interviews/breakdown-the-game-until-the-next-TV-timeout segments.
