The Jags can't catch a break, they have a chance to be a really really good young defense.Last season they lost Dante Folwer with an ACL injury before the season, this year Ramsey having a setback already.
I guess it depends if they are going to remove the torn part or try to repair it. If they try to repair it he may miss part of the season. Also he apparently had microfracture surgery in high school.

A lot of hype around Jacksonville and Oakland as potential risers this season, but defenses with a lot of new additions take time to gel and perform as a unit. There are a lot of similarities between both teams. They both invested in young QBs who have performed well but also have been forced to throw a lot more than normal because of poor run game support. The Raiders have a better offensive line, the Jaguars have a slightly better receiving corps with Robinson, Hurns, and Thomas a notch above Cooper, Crabtree and Walford. Jacksonville also has better depth behind those players. Defensively Jacksonville splashed cash on Malik Jackson and will add 3 Top 5 talent picks this year with Fowler, Ramsay and Jack. They still don't have a robust secondary and need to rely on Jackson and Fowler to get to the QB. Oakland already has a franchise defensive star in Khalil Mack and they spent money on bringing in a lengthy cover corner in Sean Smith and added another edge rusher in Bruce Irvin. The middle linebackers are still not very good and the secondary is losing a HOF player in Charles Woodson. The signing of Smith and Reggie Nelson along with drafting Karl Joseph should help with a secondary that was filled with holes and last year's best corner turned out to be Dave Amerson who was picked up mid-season off Washington's scrap heap. Bortles and Carr both put numbers but both still have room to grow. Carr seems to play a little too keyed up at times and his accuracy suffers. His rookie season was poor because his receivers couldn't get separation and he had to settle for the check down far too often. Bortles on the other hand is still too eager to force a ball down the field instead of taking the shorter, underneath option. His arm talent is undeniable but he needs to stop turning the ball over. Unlike Carr, he doesn't have the luxury of a top-rated offensive line. Both teams desperately need more out of their run games.
