The coaches have input on draft picks and rotations because our GM is not a real GM.

What the hell does leaving our stars on the field too long even mean? Lulz. Oh nooos, the good players are playing, oh noooooos.

"can you elaborate on keep stars on the field too long"

like tate being in the dog house after that fumble in Denver thus leading foster to carry the ball a million times a game even when the lead was no longer in question? conspiracy stuff.

depends, many would have considered Matt Schaub a star player on the Texans, and he was on the field too long this season and should have been benched a while ago.

Not sure if you're not remembering that game correctly... but that game was in question, till the very end... mainly in-part due to Tate's fumble.

Another thing... Arian Foster is a "star" in large part due to this coaching staff, and the scheme they've implemented.

He neither has as much production, nor does he make as much money, in any other situation.

seems like a circular firing squad between front office and coaching staff

Conventional wisdom isthe team underperforms relative to it's individual talent level. I tend to agree.

Exactly why the league voted him a top 10 player?

You do realize that more than half the NFL teams run some form of the zone running?

I disagree 100%. Foster is a stud. Of course, it may be different coming off back surgery.

I'm speaking more on the focus that he was undrafted, and happened to end up on a team that makes the running game a huge priority... and had invested in the O-line to do so.

This coincided with the team having measurable success, and led to him getting a huge contract. Not sure about "half" these teams you speak of, but nobody runs the ball as much as the Texans have the last 3 years (Foster or no Foster), and no system puts RB's in a position to succeed as much as the Kubiak/Shanahan systems do.

He's good... but a lot of his "star" status is owed to the organization that took a chance on him, developed him, and put pieces around him to enhance his success... and, of course, the organization that paid him.

I've always viewed Texans/Foster as a symbiotic relationship... sure, each can do "well" without the other, but they both do much better together.

This has to include Smith too. The best he can come up with is a lack of DL rotation? We struggle at every phase of the game, and they indirectly call out our best player's unit. Cmon Rick.

    That is b.s.

Kubiak is one of the greatest coaches the Texans have ever had.
