I asked about this a week or two ago, since the guy is a total stud. Smart decision. He has nothing left to prove in the "minors." (30 touchdowns in 2 years??? Insane!)

So, where does he rank? Is he THE #1 WR prospect now? #2? #3???

    I say:

    1) Mike Williams
    2) Larry Fitzgerald
    3) Roy Williams

Good news for the Texans. With Williams declaring (not officially yet, of course), hopefully, a stud defensive prospect will be pushed down to the Texans' draft slot. Or, hey, Roy Williams might be there now at #10 (not that we really NEED him)...

I would rather have him vs. MC...I don't see that many coming out, but wouldn't be surprised if some of the mediocre players receive bad advice and leave early...

Honestly, I think he might be a little overrated. He has great size but he's not that fast. More of a tight end tweener, but obviously not in the NFL. Don't get me wrong, I still think he's very good, but maybe not as good as hyped.

This is a little homerish, but I still think Roy Williams will be the best WR in this class if he can stay healthy and has a better work ethic than he had at UT. I'm a little concerned about his health though. He has some problems with his running style that need to be fixed or else he's asking for a hamstring injury. He wasn't showcased at all last year and not that much the other 3 years. Most of the time they threw little 3 yd. outs, etc. to him. Maybe he's not as good going deep as I thought and his route running could be improved, but the guy is just a freak. Despite Greg Davis, he still put up pretty good stats. Plus, just physically he has the speed, size, and most importantly moves for YAC. He'll take an 8 yd. reception to the house, unlike Fitzgerald and Williams who are better at just making tough catches but not doing much afterwards.

Oh yeah, and it's pretty funny that Williams left USC since people from USC were reporting that he's a definite lock to stay.

Guess it is the year for the wide receiver in the NFL. After watching him in person versus Auburn in last year's season opener, I would have to say that he is the most polished receiver at that age I've ever seen. Can you say instant superstar? The Raiders would be dolts not to take him, because he simply makes plays.

IMO, Fitzgerald is the best wide receiver in this draft. He is an ultimate playmaker, and has not had the team around him that the Williamses have had.

This is the deepest WR crop in years. Look at the guys on the board:

    Larry Fitzgerald
    Roy Williams
    Mike Williams
    Michael Clayton
    Reggie Williams
    Rashaun Woods
    Michael Jenkins

The Texans need to scoop one of these guys up in the 2nd round with the pick they get from Miami or Green Bay in the Henson trade. Corey Bradford and Jabar Gaffney are not consistent enough to play wideout, and should be in the slot instead.

Oh please, UT homers need to stop blaming lack of offensive production on Greg Davis this guy is a scapegoat for everything wrong with that program. Roy Wiliams is average size and has enough to talent to be classified as the 3rd best WR in this draft behind Mike Williams and Larry Fitzgerald.

Roy is the most complete WR in the draft, 6'4, 210 lbs. He's got great speed and athleticism, and is the best blocker out of the bunch. Larry Fitzgerald has the best hands and body control. Rashaun Woods runs the best routes hands down. Somehow he always finds a way to get open.

Then Fitzgerald's no taller than 5'11. I'm assuming that measurement was without shoes.

Assuming the Texans grab an Udeze or Wilfork in the 1st round, I'd be damn happy if Rashaun Woods falls into our laps in the 2nd. Michael Jenkins has big play ability, and has shown the ability to make clutch plays.

I think Woods is a good player, Clayton is a stud, I'm not high on Jenkins at all, I think he gets by with what he can in college but won't be able to use anything to his advantage in the big bad NFL.

You wouldn't be an aggie, would you? I can't think of any other reason you'd have a special spot in your sig for a punter. Gotta admit, he's a pretty damn good punter, but he's still a punter.

And Greg Davis isn't the scapegoat for everything, just the offense. If you can't blame the OC, who can you blame? Besides, I think Mack is catching his share lately, as well.

Haha, I probably look like an aggie with all this UT bashing.

I'm just a disgruntled Raiders Fanatic and quite frankly Shane was the lone bright spot this horrid past season.
