You mean like Aaron Rodgers? Good players drop all the time. Bad players rise all the time. I like Ingram, but only time will tell what he will be.
QB is a poor example, there are usually a small number of teams actively looking for a QB in the first round. I think it is telling when 7+ teams had Bruce Irvin in their Top 15 and Kiper/Mayock had Ingram Top 10.
Still psyched about the Steelers pickup. Supposed best player available and a need. I still don't understand what the Browns were thinking. Heard on the radio coming in to work that Schefter was reporting that they had planned on picking up Wright. Switching to Weeden is quite the audible! "We didn't get our WR. Eff it, we're changing QBs!"?
Quarterbacks are a slightly different animal. They mostly fall because of a lack of need. Very few teams couldn't use another good linebacker.
The first round is all hype anyway. While each pick is getting praised, remember that maybe 4-5 of these guys will actually develop into top grade players, another 10-12 will be decent starters, and the rest will be average or just plain suck.
lol at the rams. Should stop when they were ahead. Trading with the jags was good. Trading with Dallas and losing on the last blue chip player bad. Got too greedy.
They just signed Finnegan, they didn't need Claiborne. What they did need is somebody to help free up Chris Long.
Picking up an additional 2nd round pick to move back 8 slots seems worth it if they don't put as much value on one of the infinite number of Alabama defensive players drafted in the first round. (OK, it was only 3, but it felt like a lot more.) St. Louis is terrible and they need a lot of bodies. (*Jags=Redskins?)
I misread this post. The Rams didn't trade with the Jags, the Bucs did. The Rams wanted Blackmon bad. Fisher apparently flipped out when JAX took him.
Yep. They saw Blackmon as the elite player they wanted. Once they missed out on him they decided they needed to fill holes.
Did anyone hear Mel Kiper during the draft when discussing the linebacker from Boston College describe him as (paraphrasing) "A throw back, a white guy exactly like you want."
I really like what the Patriots and Rams did. Wright looks like a major chubster. Britt and Washington are better.
Mel Kiper predicted Tomlinson to be a huge bust & called JaWalrus Russell the next version of Elway LOL. Anyways, Ingram is a motor, there's no way he'll be a bust. He's too versatile & athletic. He probably fell because of his arm length. This guy is Lamar Woodley 2.0. Write it down.
Ingram is a workout warrior, he has a couple of moves that won't work against NFL lineman. Vernon Gholston 2.0. Write it down.
they're going to trade Colt. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...y-out-of-cleveland?module=HP11_headline_stack
Apparently Green Bay might give up a 7th rounder for a new clipboard holder now that Matt Flynn peaced.
