I've heard opinions about Jalen Strong that are all over the place, some absolutely hate him, some think he could be the most productive WR out of this class within a few years. I see a lot of things to like about his play and I think he could be a good guy to go across from Nuk for the foreseeable future but I'm not expecting superstardom or anything like that. This pick, is a lot like the others IMO, solid picks that fill a need but aren't terribly flashy.
I love the pick. I saw a few ASU games this year and he was just insane. Great hands, can take contact. Honestly I see Andre Johnson when I see this dude play.
He is a big boy...and his production is so consistent. If the Texans can get something out of the QB position this season, I wouldnt be surprised that Strong moves up the depth chart to #2 by seasons end. Also just as a side point...love the other pro player the city of Houston has that is a Sun Devil...
He does have raw speed. The ability is there, he just needs to learn how to use it. Better problem to have than to just be slow with no real way to get faster. I've read that he does get separation. He doesn't look like he's playing fast (neither does Arian Foster), but he does just enough to get by his man.
Well one of the things I like about what I've seen of him so far is that he catches with his hands a lot more than with his body. That's a bad habit that a lot of college WR's get into that hurt them transitioning to the NFL. I think route running is something he can get better at, but with the good hands, it means he can possibly be productive from day one.
That's because they say he's a long strider meaning that his speed is only straight line and that kind of speed isn't as valuable as speed that is more sudden. I don't know how much that really matters though in this instance, Strong is more of a big possession receiver who uses his body and physicality along with good instincts to create separation instead of pure speed. If he refines his route running considerably he could be a very solid WR for a long time.
What a steal, this youngster is going to be a stud in the NFL. Dude has the size, speed and catches with his hands. Andre Johnson 2.0
He was targeted over 150 times and barely made plays on 50 percent of those targets. What consistent production are you talking about? His catch ratio was actually pretty low compared to other receivers. Still, I like obrien and if he's on board I'll be optimistic lol
