The team is not in the dark and they are working to make sure it doesn't cost them games. There has been improvement since the b ye when Kubiak mentioned that they were working on that aspect of the game.

you're right. it was annihilation if tate just stays down. I think any game where you drop multiple 60 yard bombs should be considered a shootout. Hate on manning for having to rely on a fumble and invisible p. i calls and not living to his end of the shoot out. Peyton was left with his hand still on his holster.
How was the hit on Cutler illegal? Aside from the ref tossing the flag, it was a bullcrap call. Why? Because if Cutler had passed the line of scrimmage (since the ref tossed the flag for that), then he becomes a runner and not a defenseless player. If that was Forte running there, it wouldnt have been an illegal hit. Now, if Cutler was behind the line of scrimmage, that would be another story...but that's not the case here and Dobbins shouldnt have been called for a flag.
Its illegal if its on a defenseless player...like a wide receiver jumping to catch a ball and having the safety come from behind and hit him in the helmet. Running backs get hit in the helmet all the time, but they arent defenseless, as they are usually going directly towards defenders.
It was illegal cause it was helmet to helmet on a defenseless player. Cutler was not technically a runner because he had thrown the ball. Yes he was past the line of scrimmage which is why he deserved his penalty but because he threw the ball he isn't a runner. If he intended to run he would've cradled the ball and kept moving, instead he threw it and got hit when he was not prepared to take the hit. If it wasn't helmet to helmet it would be a non-issue.
Yeah, but he shouldnt even have been attempting to throw...it would be like Arian Foster running the ball, then before he's about to get hit, he decides he wants to throw the ball...and then having the ref call a flag because he's a defenseless player. You cant be a defenseless player when youve passed the line of scrimmage like that. The reason I brought it up is because Kubiak was on the radio saying that it didnt make sense to be called an illegal hit even though it was helmet to helmet.
If a receiver is having a ball thrown to him, but it gets tipped in the air, you can tackle the receiver even though he doesnt have the ball.
