I would love to get either Earl Thomas or Myron Rolle in one of the first two rounds.

Those kids are smart. There is a real possiblity there will be no NFL football in 2011 unless there is a new CBA between the league and NFL PA. As a result, I expected a lot of juniors and redshirt sophomores to declare.

NFL will also likely put in a rookie pay scale.

    Time to jump ship, boys.

I bet even I could walk onto a DI program next year with all the kids leaving.

    There's no way that's happening.

    Texans needs:

    RB
    Safety
    Defensive Tackle
    Center
Kicker (probably not going to happen)

As of this point, its a lot closer to happening than not happening.

It is a very real possibility... something everybody should be very concerned about. Remember... the NFL PA is the WEAKEST of all the players associations. They either roll over even more for the owners (which they have for much of their existence), or they finally take a stand.

Either way, things are going to be really ugly.

The NFL players union is the weakest in pro sports. They need to elect leadership that will get them better deals. The NFL makes more money than any pro league yet their players get screwed the most.

Hoping all those early entries will push Taylor Mays down to us, or near enough so we can trade up without giving up the farm.

Taylor Mays is more Darnell Bing than Troy Polamalu.

But he'll still be a 1st round pick, unless he has a lousy pre draft workout. Maybe switch him to strong safety since his cover skills aren't the greatest.

Why would you waste a top 20 pick on a safety that can't cover?

I dont think they stop playing football, the thing that could happen is that next season is going to be uncapped. I dont remember how that could work, but I think is in nfl.com

Texans snag Dez Bryant or Damian Williams and thats one hell of an offense.

Same reason why a team would draft a QB 1st overall that can't read coverages or a wide receiver that runs the best 40 yard dash despite not having the best receiving skills on the WR list, physical attributes are too hard to ignore and that potential word.

I have hard time feeling sorry for any union let alone one made of up millionaires (or at least hundred thousandaires).

I would love for the Texans to get a player like Earl Thomas, but drafting an electric playmaker on offense is what could get us over the hump.

It's def something to consider due to our tougher schedule next season.
