    According to Adrian Wojnarowski's twitter:

In the release, Phil Jackson says: "It will be the last stand for me, and I hope a grand one."

    Via Press Release:

Phil Jackson will return as head coach of the Lakers for the 10-11 season.

“Count me in,” said Jackson. “After a couple weeks of deliberation, it is time to get back to the challenge of putting together a team that can defend its title in the 2010-11 season. It’ll be the last stand for me, and I hope a grand one.”

Jackson, who most recently guided the Lakers to the 2010 NBA Championship, their second in a row, has won five titles as head coach of the Lakers. Overall, Jackson has guided his teams to eleven NBA Championships, the most of any coach in NBA history.

Argh, was hoping he would leave. Another advantage for that team.

I guess if he can't coach the best player in the league why bother.

He's going to keep coaching until he can't win a championship. MEANING next year is his last year, cause my Rockets are going to cause hell for the NBA next year with our new signings.....hopefully

He's trying to go for a 4th 3-peat. Amazing coaching career.

How great would it be to knock the Lakers out in the Wester Conference Finals next year? Especially with all of this talk about three three-peats...

Grand wouldn't mean another championship, he's done that. Grand would be team implosion; messing with Odom, benching Kobe, more ridicule of Bynum, forcing Gasol to flop on every play.

Good no excuses when the Rockets take down the Lakers next season. Respect what he has done and what the Lakers have done but still hate the team.

He is a good coach, but I still think it's BS that the two times he has walked away from coaching both have happened to coincide with when he didn't have a top 3 player in the league - Jordan, Shaq, and Kobe who lprobably has one more year left as an elite player.

It's pretty clear that Phil intends to quit the Lakers after next season so he can coach the Bucks. What coach wouldn't wanna be a part of that team? John Salmons? Drew Gooden?

whew, that just sent shivers down my spine.
