Lawson Harden Dmo Howard/ Capela We know those guys are staying. Morey is going to want a veteran PF and probably a shooter/scorer at the 1 or 3. I'm thinking Sessions, Temple....possibly Humphries....at least from Washington. The tough part is losing Ariza. He's huge for us defensively. I'm not sure we can afford to lose him.
If we're trading Ariza and Brew, that means we are hoping KJ can be the defensive stopper we're losing in Ariza.
Man I used to be the Daryl morey of Pokemon cards like I traded this hitmonchan and fillers man like non holographic ones like I don't even remember just str8 trash and I got a charizard holigraphic but my charizard was facing up to 180 days in the poke so it was risky as hail
The Rockets are terrible defensively so we make Beverley, KJ and Ariza available for trades while keeping defensive sieves like Lawson, Terry, and Thornton. Ok........
The info is much appreciated, codman. I can't think of anybody on Sacramento we would be interested in, though. Collison? Okay. But is he worth giving up Ariza? Hell naw. Are we going to resurrect the interest in Rondo? Casspi is alright, but hardly an example worthy of the "fix it until it works" philosophy.
Codman, thanks for your post again as always. Here's to good health! Brewer, Beverley, KJ, Ariza Team trade targets: Sacramento (Caspi, Collison, McLemore?) Dc (Dudley, Humphries, Nene, Oubre ) Brooklyn (Jack? Bogdanovic?) Toronto (Lowry-yeah right, Patterson, Scola) Clearly there are a number of familiar names/targets like Caspi, Collison, Dudley, Patterson, Scola etc. I am intrigued by Ben McLemore though. A young 6-5 SG that isn't getting big minutes. He kind of fits the mold of guys I wanted to Rockets to go after to pair with Harden like Brandon Knight and CJ McCollumn. I wonder if McLemore could be had? And at what price? Toronto would seem a tough team to trade with because of Ujiri their GM. But the Kings look like they could be had with the right slight of hand. I am fine moving Brewer, KJ, Beverley for the right pieces. I am fine moving Ariza, but if you move Ariza you better be getting back a SERIOUS piece and not just random rotational players.
As far as I can tell, Brewer's days here are numbered when McHale (his biggest supporter) got canned. That being said, I don't think the market for a player like Brewer (or Bev, or KJ) is that big considering none of them are big contributors this year. I'd trade Brewer or Beverly to Brooklyn for Jarrett Jack right now. He's not a sieve on Defense and he's got ice in his veins during crunch time. Hell I'd trade Brewer to Sacramento for Bellinelli. Ariza's a harder pill to swallow because he still has really good value. But if we can reset and get a point guard that plays defense and is offensively above average (see: Darren Collison), I'd do it. Move KJ into the starting lineup and make Morey prove to us that he made the right move by re-signing KJ.
Anyone follow the Wizards and has the scoop on Temple? I feel like that could be a player Morey would look to bring in...vet, 3 ball improved since he was here and IIRC he was more of a defender...long enough where he can play some three, already can play 1 and 2. That's a lot of versatility. He can back up James or play with him or next to Ty.
Keep in mind the Rockets have the Hard Cap to deal with. Brewer - 8.2 M Ariza - 8.2 M Beverley - 6.5M KJ - 3.1M Jones - 2.5M Dekker - 1.6M Sacramento Collison 5M + Casspi 2.8M = 7.8M McLemore 3.1M Brooklyn Jack 6.3M Washington Humphries 4.4M + Dudley 4.2M = 8.6M Oubre 1.9M Nene 13M (Lawson is 12.4M) Toronto Lowry 12M Patterson 6.2 M Scola 3M James Johnson 2.5M
Brewer isnt getting Pat^^ , stock too low. Patterson or Humphries, with Temple and Johnson, I think would be signifcantly helpful. We'd get a lot more experience and leadership than we have + the on the court stuff, of course. Sessions could be an option too, if we actually trade Lawson, but I doubt that.
