http://sports.bovada.lv/sports-betting/basketball-futures.jsp Interestingly, Rockets are at 50/1, just after the Knicks & Nets, and surprisingly ahead of 15 teams. I guess Vegas likes our rooks
You can laugh all you want, the Rockets are going to stun the Lakers in the first round of the playoffs. We'll be losing at the half of game 5, nearing elimination. McHale will be yelling at Asik that he needs to do a better job of stopping Howard. In a movie like moment, D-Mo will stand up from the bench and say in his thick eastern european accent "I'll do it." Motiejuanas shuts down Dwight some how and hits the buzzer beater 3 to win game 5. Kobe scowls. Motie continues to be a force on both sides of the ball, and we beat the Lakers. Becoming the first team to come back from 3-0. Then, we get swept by the Jazz in the 2nd round.
That is pretty good considering this new team has not even ever played together (Lin and Asik + the rooks). The Vegas odds reflect an increase in talent from last year. IMO.
The winners are either the team on the top of the list or the team on the bottom of the list. We are in the middle yet again...
it's to make it more pricey on Lin fans. I suspect a number of people are still going to bet. This bet will potentially be a cash cow.
if I was a betting person btw, the Grizzlies (31), the Nuggets (36) and the Jazz (76) look like very solid bets. All teams have room for improvement from last year (trades / youth / previous injuries). All are elite in some areas (size, defense/toughness or athleticism), all of which translate to playoffs. None of them shouldn't be so low.
