Seems like a fair and realistic deal. I like Martin but I'd be much happier moving on and rebuilding.

Martin would free up more cap room and would likely have a higher return. Scola is 30 but is still in as perfect shape as possible and has not missed a single game. I think we need to focus on freeing up cap space, developing Patterson and our lottery pick this summer and focusing on 2012 and Dwight Howard. That involves keeping Courtney Lee (who is his best friend).
Brooks / Lowry Lee / player x Williams / Budinger Scola / Patterson Favors / Hayes That is a line-up I would like for now and the future, Favors has the potential to be Dwight Howard good if he pans out. I don't see why New Jersey wants to give up on him and win but I guess a move to Brooklyn would do that.
I'd do that trade too, but I think the Nets want a legit scorer at the 2. Plus, it's my understanding that Scola's contract is going to be tougher to trade because of it's BYC status. Also, Scola has been MUCH more durable than Martin and I'd really like to sell high on Martin before he gets hurt again.
So.. you made that up? I haven't seen anything that said the Nets were 'supposedly' interested in Martin?
