This. As much as I hate the nicknames "Wizards" "Bobcats" and "Hornets" (at least in New Orleans" the Raptors is a terrible, terrible name. They should be the Huskies, like they were in the ABA. BTW, if this all goes through, imagine the confusion explaining this to somebody. "He played for the Hornets. No when they were in New Orleans." If this goes through, they might as well just give the history and team records to Charlotte too, and treat the Hornets [of New Orleans] like an expansion team.
No, because the Lakers name has been with the franchise since the '60s and has become an icon in it's own right. Plus, the Bucks aren't asking for the Laker name back.
You mean Minnesota. If Charlotte gets the Hornets name back then it sets a bad precedent for future franchises. Would only be a matter of time before Texans fans start asking for the Oilers name back as soon as the team becomes a loser. Further, the Bobcats (a TERRIBLE name since its inception) just re-did their look yet again.
