We dont have a big three, we have three people who ar supposed to be superstars. Two whom which proved in recent years to be. Aquiring Carter would put us up there with the best. If everyone gets back to the way they used to be, and yes they will, then we will be a force to reckon with. Yao will need to get his 20 and ten, Tmac will need to get his 20 5 5. Scola will need to do what he is doing, and Carter will have about 15-25pts a night. We will be ready for anything. Carter will give Tmac a big big mental confidence boost. Return of the Mini Twin Towers.

:D I guess we need to find someone "tangible" to balance out Shane and then we're ready to go.

What is everyone expecting from VC if we get him?

For me, alot of shots alot of points nothing else. That guy won't make us better. It's a lateral move at best.

I'm all for shaking things up at this point if it makes us better now or in the future, but this seems like doing a trade just for the sake of doing one.

Ive seen Artest play great defense this year. Against Lebron for example. No its not consistent, but none of our guys have been (except Hayes). I blame coaching for everything defensively. Artest can play D.

    Think about this:

VC and T-Mac are really competitive with each other right? So imagine both of them on the same team trying to top each other night in and night out.

Now that could be a good or a bad thing obviously but it's an interesting thought.

vc shoots aswell as artest, if not better
he's a dynamic scorer, sort of like a healthier tmac. and takes big shots at the end of the game
it'll be like a ray allen type of addition, except mcgrady is not half as good as pierce right now

Getting rid of Tmac or Artest is good for the locker room. And moving Artest is a safer step.

If its a lot of shots, at least he'll hit a little higher percentage...

Artest is a bull and has a lot of "heart". He is a tenacious defender and a game changer... or so the myths went.
Carter is ALSO a volume shooter, so nothing is guaranteed.

Exactly. If this rumor does become true, it's just another quick fix in a long line of quick fixes. The Rockets have essentially become THE patchwork team of the NBA. Trading for Carter negates the expiring contract that McGrady has after next year.

Say no to this trade. VC's contract is way too long. I'd rather wait until next to trade Tmac to team who are disparate to free cap room to sign big names in 2010. Doing that you might really get a good player when the team are disparate to make room.
