The flashes that Drummond showed on the court. He was incredibly inconsistent, but if you watched him play early on in the season last year there were times you just saw how he could dominate the game. Leonard on the other hand.... Ive never seen that. He has some nice physical tools, seems to be mature, and works hard, but I watched him play at Illinois, and he never has shown me flashes of anything more than a big body who isn't skilled enough to be a mismatch to other bigs, and isn't strong enough to dominate in the post with his size. He's just kind of there.
Drummond is the second youngest player in this draft. He's 1.5 years younger than Leonard and already the more productive player. That said, I'm not sold on Drummond. (See name #1 on this list: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=220783)
Yeah, sounds like you don't like Drummond either. What's riskier in your mind: taking Drummond at say #5 or Leonard at #14?
Perry Jones will not pass 16. It would be disgustingly similar to us passing up on Rashard not 1...not 2...
Pass up on Q.Miller. He is a nice player, but his jumper isn't that good and he is coming of a major injury. We can't afford to make mistakes. I hope Morey won't reach out for him.
I agree, I think Tyler Zeller will be the better pro. he has this duncanish style to him in which he improves every year.
Well, Drummond at #5 is the riskier pick because there will be (much) better players available at 5 than at 14, however with Drummond there is also much higher potential reward. And that's essentially what it's all about. Risk vs. reward. I wouldn't want to be guy who took Drummond #5, but I also wouldn't pick Leonard #14. If I had to choose I guess I'd probably rather go with Drummond at #5, but preferably I'd go with neither. Wow, 3 posts in 9 years, that's awesome. I also believe that Zeller will be the better pro.
