Smh, ya don't say? He's a freakin rookie with scarce experience, of course, but he was absolutely great with that precursor. No complaining, he was terrific.
He clearly has awareness issues, which isn't surprising. But there is just a very high value in being able to get to the ball at a high point. There's nothing more frustrating then watching guys get easy rebounds simply because they are longer. Capela can get his hand on balls that Jones, Dorsey and Smith have no chance at.
honestly you can't be too hard on Capela looking a little lost. one of his first games in the NBA with meaningful in a home playoff game. he must have been shaking
huge confidence boost in this game. he'll be the backup center for awhile. the nba better hope he doesnt bulk up this offseason
Yea. The kid is freaking 20. I was super happy for him when he got all excited after that dunk. Kids living a dream man. A DREAM!!
Thank you, Capela's agent, for forcing him to join the Rockets this year instead of playing overseas for another season.
Post game interviews: McHale loves the kid, says he has a great work ethic, and isn't phased by the playoff pressure. D12: said he was very proud of the way Clint played. It is simply amazing how far he has come this season...and he would only be a freshman in college.
Yeah, I'm not convinced CC would have developed as much as he has if he was overseas. Capela got about as much attention on his game as he could get being here. Kudos to the organization for working hard to develop him and the same to CC for putting in the work.

He is basically a Brandan Wright 2.0 (wouldn't it be fitting if he is the difference maker in this series?). Brandan Wright was drafted high based on his potential and was actually traded for prime Jason Richardson, a borderline all-star at the time. Wright hasn't really progressed much since. Hopefully Capela can bulk up some, develop something other on the offensive end apart from dunking from p&r and learns to play smarter. Sky is the limit, at least with his physical gifts. Also, he had 9-2 standing reach at the time of his draft. I think he has grown some more (or he is just that explosive idk). Same thing with Anthony Davis, no way he now only has 9'3" reach or whatever he had when he was drafted.
Capela is taller than Brandan Wright despite the listed height. He's legit 6-11 to 7-0 at the moment with at least a 9'5 standing reach...
Rookie doing work. Now get back to watch Dmo's tapes on how to be in position at the defensive end. Sucks how he got the rookie treatment when he went up against Ama're.
was shocked to see Capella get so much PT but he played well when he was out there - he needs time but he can become a very good backup center for the Rockets. He still relies too much on his athleticism instead of his head when playing defense at times but that will come with experience. He does need to bulk up though. Great to see the kid come through
Love this kid so freaking much. W/o Clinty we'd be goosed while D12 sits. Being an ex futbol striker has given him exceptional footwork.
Really? Had no idea he was a striker. People who knows footwork know that futbol will improve it for basketball.
