Hell yeah! Good for Seattle. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>RT <a href="https://twitter.com/erikajschultz"><s>@</s><b>erikajschultz</b></a>: Sonics fans show hopeful anticipation before <a href="https://twitter.com/kccouncil"><s>@</s><b>kccouncil</b></a> approved arena agreement 6-3 <a href="https://twitter.com/search/%23SeattleArena"><s>#</s><b>SeattleArena</b></a> <a href="http://t.co/Ddsx0bzs" title="http://seati.ms/OypMUD">seati.ms/OypMUD</a></p>— The Seattle Times (@seattletimes) <a href="https://twitter.com/seattletimes/status/230108451035033600" data-datetime="2012-07-31T01:11:44+00:00">July 31, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
If only they had done this years earlier...could've prevented the Sonics from moving. I'd hate to see a team leave their city again. Unless its the Clippers. I wouldn't trip; hate idea of two teams in one city. Especially if they're sharing the same damn arena.
Of course, once the taxes increase people will b****. When will we stop taking it up the ass for some millionaire who could care less about the city, sport, or team? KC has a new arena, Seattle just passed this, Sacramento may end up doing the same. For what? For the opportunity to pay $50 for a ticket?
With the mess the Maloofs have made in Sacremento that seems to be the most logical team to move to Seattle. It also works n the sense that there is no need to realign divisions as Seattle an step into the Pacific. If it is Sacremento moving they may still want to take the team to Anahiem. 3 teams in SoCal seems to much for me but it's a definite possibility.
For various reasons, Clippers moving from LA will NEVER happen with Donald Sterling running it. He'd rather get the extra $10-15 mil a year in everything LA provides than to be their own identity.
I'm sorry but what exactly does this mean?? The Thunder aren't going back so will they try to bring the kings over or start a new team??
You could win the argument that Seattle deserves a franchise more the OKC does, but they have embraced the Thunder, they're not going anywhere for the foreseeable future.
Move the Utah Jazz to New Orleans. Move the New Orleans Hornets to Charlotte. Move the Charlotte Bobcats to Seattle and rename them Sonics. Eff Utah. Everyone wins!
They should add a new team in the NBA and throw the Hornets in the east. Have 15 teams in the west and 16 teams in the east. It would help balance things out.
Personally, I don't see any teams moving. I don't see any teams with bad arenas/leases. Oracle Arena was remodeled recently, and there has been talk of them wanting to move across the bay. Maybe the Bucks? Does Herb Kohl still own the team?
we need to abort teams instead of adding teams. I'm down for aborting two teams. Bye Charlotte. Bye Sacramento. Or Bye Charlotte. Bye New Orleans
