This was not my concern though. I'm taking it as wrote that this colussus squid was indeed only half grown. That still doesn't explain the weird discrepancy. Assume this one (was 330 lbs) is half grown...then you can probably assume that when fully grown it will be twice as big (approximately, which puts it at 660 lbs...for arguments sake, we could even say the second half of its development is more and it gets to 1000 lbs). They said in the article that colussus squids are bigger than giant squids. But then they said that giant squids generally get up to 2000 lbs. How in the hell are the colusses squids bigger than the giant squids with that kind of weight difference?
Did you guys ever see King Kong vs Godzilla? Kong whupped up on a huge octopus. I don't think a squid would be much harder for him. If the new Kong movie takes place in New Zealand, maybe he can fight a huge a$$ squid.
It's a colossal conundrum. An enigma. The only conceivable answer must be that parts is parts. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around an exploding whale.
