I enjoyed it. Could have done a better job executing the multiverse aspect but solid movie nonetheless. Keep expectations low as this is the worst of the three.
I read it was originally written as a sci-fi space thriller. JJ Abrams Bad Robot company bought the script and added in monster elements to fit their Cloverfield anthology. And make those huge Cloverfield $$$. They did the same with 10 Cloverfield Lane. They bought a good thriller script and altered the ending.
This was okay. I can see why Paramount went the Netflix route. I don't think it would've done well in theaters.
Didn't finish it last night but what I did see was awful. I can only hope it ends better. As it stands now, "Event Horizon" and "Life" are masterpieces compared to this garbage. I'm shocked JJ Abrams did this.
He only produced it, but yeah.... Main problems with this movie were the directing and the editing. Felt like there were tons of missing scenes and missing plot elements, yet the movie still ran 1 hour 45 minutes. It's a shame, too. Cloverfield is one of my all-time favorites. 10 Cloverfield Lane was great, too. But this was clearly a bust, and not a surprise they secretly dumped it onto Netflix rather that take it to theaters.
This movie provided more questions than answers. Honestly felt like it was a Crappy Black Mirror episode.
Yeah it was just ok. It had a very muddled plot and wasn’t really cohesive. A very cool way to release it though.
Good movie, but definitely the least of the three so far. 7/10 due to bad pacing, some cheesy lines here and there, but great acting and premise that you're invested in due to the background of the other two.
