No way he drops to us, if steven adams declares for the draft I would love us to draft him, has similar potential but won't make the immediate impact that noel will

I have not watched much of his games.

Is the kid strong post defender? Is he a good help defender?

The dude went beast mode. I think he is just as good as A.Davis on the defensive end.

Thoughts on Nerlens Noel performance last night.

    Chad Ford (1:35 PM)
Maybe the best 2 point performance I've ever seen. Those 12 blocks were ridiculous. It was like he was a NBA player against a high school JV team. Noel has 32 blocks in his last 4 games! He's averaging 8 bpg in his last four in the SEC. That's crazy. He's currently on pace to record more block than Anthony Davis did as a freshman. I know he's been seen as a disappointment by many ... but to me he's played exactly as advertised -- elite defender, raw offensively. I know we obsess about offense when talking about draft prospects, but NBA scouts and teams care equally about defense and Noel has the potential to be a contender for Defensive Player of the Year someday in the NBA. That alone makes him worthy of being considered for the No. 1 pick in this draft.[/rquoter]

If he keeps playing like he did against Ole Miss, he'll be a top 3 pick for sure, especially given how rare solid big men are in the league.

It will be interesting if he's taken first. Two similar point guards go #1 back to back (Wall and Irving) then two similar big men (Davis & Noel).

As much as I want him he wouldn't be filling a position of need anyway, not with a sketchy offense.

i'm watching the Kentucky vs Texas A&M and one of the commentators said that Nerlens could be like Tyson Chandler with the blocks he gets

Not sure about that, man. The kid's shooting touch is like finger nails to the chalkboard terribad. He has a very inferior offensive feel for the game.

He can jump. That's about it.

Also, defensively, he's easily pump faked. All the blocks from Clutch's post were blocked with the guys going straight at him which is incredibly stupid.

He is quick on his feet and has a knack for shotblocking, would love him next to an offensive elite PF next year ;)

Problem is they thought Chandler would be the next KG coming out of HS, Davis looked like a 6'11 PG sometimes. Skilled bigs can look ridiculous in HS, you see nothing of that with Noel.
