backups that aren't 6'8 and still are non factors. i dont see much of the issue here, especially when the rockets currently sitting on 58 wins with 10 left
You know what is weird? All I said was it would be nice to have another true center who could play and you bring up our record. So why does anyone want Lebron James, or anyone else? We can all wish for an even more dominating team in the future can't we? Clint won't always be healthy, and a true backup would be nice. Give me a break here, it was just a wish.
I hope, and hope is a big word here, that Nene is resting for only necessary matchups until the playoffs. I hope he is not injured. I don't ever expect the Rockets to spill the beans on injury reports or health concerns if they don't have to. Why would they?
I see no reason why nene wouldn't come in in his usual backup role every single playoff game as long as he is able to.
I still can't believe this guy is out of the rotation. I believe Mike D'Antoni running around unchecked like this is a recipe for disaster. Morey indulged him with his pet, Joe Johnson, now he's allowing him to exclude GOOD NBA players from the rotation in favor guys who....are closer to net negatives than anything else(Anderson, Johnson). If I asked someone who had the best on-court plus minus on the team per 100 possessions, who would they say? Luc? CP3? Clint? Beard? No, it's easily Hilario Nene. Not even close at this point. +15 net rating when he plays in games. That's up there with Curry or Dray when they were breaking win records. Does that mean he's an MVP? Of course not. Objectively good NBA player? YES. Definitely. More than that, no metric, boxscore or otherwise supports him being an unplayable guy. It is patently absurd to see this guy rot away on the bench. He is old and marinally worse at everything compared to last year, but still very effective. I said it after the Pelicans game in NO, it is incredibly disturbing that D'Antoni just does not know who his best players are.
I think Nene is resting too, makes sense after all. Sadly i also agree with who's saying he'es not looing as good as last season but eh, it's understandable i guess.
That torn groin vs Spurs was tough. But he’s coming back. Just need him healthy vs GSW or maybe thunder in 2nd round
I don't think D'antoni's first choice is to play Joe Johnson. I am sure he knows who will get the grind come playoffs. I am sure he would also love to play NeNe but at this point we have been getting by without over exerting the big fella. Nene plays just enough to not be forgotten and not be rusty. Risking his fragile body during the regular season is just not worth it. We aren't the pelicans who are desperate to make an appearance for the playoffs. We're thinking Championship and a healthy NeNe will be a big contributor. An injured Nene will not. Let joe be what joe is... filler for the regular season...
Nene is 100% resting. He took a lot of games off too last season and dominated in the playoffs. You don't just lose your spot in the rotation after performing as well as he did in the post season. The big difference this season is the Rockets can afford to rest Nene as much as they want, so they are going with that.
We need a rejuvenated Nene against GSW, OKC, Portland and the Spurs too. I'm afraid that he has run out of gas. Nene was such a beast last season, until the terrible groin injury.
Yep, he needs to get his jumper going again, but I am sure right now he's just being rested because they can afford to rest him. At the same time he still needs to get a few minutes to stay in game shape.
I was at the game today and saw him warm up. He is looked like he was moving well, in good spirits laughing around with his teammates, and 100% healthy. He is just resting
