Yeah, it's like he's remembering 2008 Carmelo. "Wait, what year is this? 2018? Puta que pariu!" I'm glad we acquired Melo but let's not overstate his value until we see how he fits in with his new team.
Nene's saying complimentary things about a guy he played with for several seasons and likely considers a friend. I don't see why that's a big deal. Agree or disagree with the big fella, he's got an opinion just like the rest of us. It'll be interesting to see what dynamic might exist between the two, Nene and Melo. Anthony might be feeling like he's coming out of a nightmare (OKC) and coming to a completely different situation that's not only better suited for how he plays, but a place inhabited by some good friends, as well. That can't hurt Melo's motivation.
