This falls in line witht e MDA blueprint and yes, this is a great move for measly NBA dollars. Can't lose proposition and I like what Daniel Murrey is doing.
I think the team can even withstand injuries as long as Harden is healthy, for all the complaining about James, he is one of the 3-5 best players in the NBA and one of the few that can literally carry a team. I think the Rockets really need a defensive anchor in the middle. We had that with Howard before he regressed. All the emphasis has been placed on wings in the NBA, but they only get high percentage shots if they can draw players while penetrating. The Rockets could actually be a better defensive team that suspected if they line up a deal for a legitimate post defender. The one name that I have been told is being offered around the league is Tyson Chandler. He regressed some last year, age started to show, but he is still one of the best 5-6 paint defenders in the NBA.
Chandler has a terrible contract. We need to keep the flexibility to chase another star next offseason. Otherwise James will bolt.
They are finding players to fit with D'Antoni's system around Harden. They tried to get your much longed for "upside" and "darkside" players (Jesus, did you just forget the $72 million offer to Kent Bazemore), but nabbed some guys who can shoot. The direction is obvious.
Oh you are so Welcomed big fella ! Like the jason terry signing all those sour pusses will be eating their words next year and jumping for joy when he comes in, book it.
I think they can get higher than the 6-8 seed..... having said that, what is the point of being a fan of any team other than the Warriors? They just added one of the 25-30 greatest players in NBA history to a young team that won 73 games.... All I can tell you is that the NBA changes very quickly.
Didn't we use to have a Nene insider a while back? His wife and Nene's wife were friends or something.
i don't get why some ppl are so low on this guy per game 9.2 ppg 4.5 rpg 1.7 apg per 36 min 17.3 ppg 8.5 rpg 3.2 apg 1.8 spg 0.9 bpg 16.7 PER 3.02 DRPM (12th among ceters) capable scorer, has good passing skills for a big man, decent defender for 2.9mil/year with room exception? this is a fantastic move
'Cause true H fans do not sell their loyalty to the highest bidder. That's for wanna be losers who like to put crap on espn threads............
If you can't shoot then it don't compute. At least on this team for this season. So can't see Jack being signed, same with Rubio (even tho Morey is signing/acquiring all his pets, just not a fit with MDA). As for Goudelock, he is a lights out shooter and excelled in Vipers' Run and Gun system. I think he surprises and is kept on the roster. Would love Bledsoe (Cod said to watch out for fire sale in the desert) but acquiring another point guard is the wrong way to look at it, instead need to keep picking up players who can pass and/or handle the ball. Someone who fits both the back up facilitator and 3-D wing need is Lance Stephenson. Not a "bird" (Codman is so tricky) that I can recall but fits the need to a "T". Cod also said that Morey is talking to Philly about one of their centers. And its not Embiid or NN (makes me very sad).
