I haven't been in for a check-up in a long time and probably should. Anyone have any recommendations for a good primary care physician in the Katy area? Smaller fingers, por favor.
I don't think there are doctors left in Katy after the evacuation -- you might have to travel to Houston proper for a legit physician.
Just recently had my prostate examined so the small fingers request is a reasonable request and will be the first thing I check next time around.
Dude...just go online. Most primary care physicians you will find will be great. Go with an internist though (someone that did their residency in internal medicine) as opposed to someone in family medicine due to the fact that internists are have a larger knowledge base and are trained to handle just about any problem. But KC may be right, Katy is always under hurricane watch.
I saw a guy recently in Katy actually. Assadudin I believe the name was. Of Katy Internists. He's a badass doctor. Calls you, treats you like a human, listens.
What? A physician trained in family medicine or internal medicine are both going to have a substantial enough knowledge base to be your PCP. The difference being that an IM doc has more training in treating inpatients while the FM doc has focused on outpatients. This doesn't make one "better" than the other one, just more suited to a specific task. And I can promise you that any FM physician worth his salt is more than capable of handling any problem you'd throw at a PCP.
Does this thread really have proctology exam references and then a guy allegedly named Assadudein'? Good luck, RM95. I think you're doing the right thing, seriously. Personal references are best.
I looked through the Blue Cross listings for a female Internist thinking if I got a accidental wood it wouldn't be gay. She turned out to look like this: And speeds through her appointments like this: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/NeK5ZjtpO-M" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I'll give you her name if you want.
I call him the ass man. Others call him little finger. http://www.katyinternists.com/aboutphysician.html
Shasta, in theory you are right, but I couldn't goto my PCP this one time in highschool and had to schedule an appointment with a family medicine doc and he basically told me otherwise. An endocrine based problem was what it seemed like but he just threw his hands up and said, "I'm just a family medicine doc, you should probably see an internist." The inpatient/outpatient point you made was correct, but an internist can handle both inpatient/outpatient while a family medicine is just suited to outpatient (unless they do an extra fellowship I believe).
I believe that my parents leased a daycare property in Stafford from him for over a decade. They just sold that location a few months ago.
