Parsons started last year because we had scola and martin in the starting lineup. All offense and no defense.

Thix year, we have a strong defensive starters. We need more shooters/scorers who can complete a play when they are at the receiving end of an assist.

Patterson and Parsons are by no means finished products. Especially Parsons. Its just that both figured out early on in their careers that if they give an exta hoot about defense it will get them on the court must faster.

-Patterson has already shown the ability to be a consistent shooter from outside, and Parsons has already shown great improvement from last year. Neither of these guys will ever be 25PPG scorers but they will be reliable enough for 12 to 17 PPG with heavy rotation minutes in their careers.

-Asik on the other hand, really has good offensive insticts, but his hands have been really bad the past few games. I think his confidence is sliding quite a bit which is a dangerous scenario, and he could use more offseason type work on softening his hands much like the drills that wide recievers do in football offseason workouts.

He has nervous hands. He needs to losen them up, relax, and take his time in the post. As big as he is, he has the time to grab the offensive rebound, set his feet and read the defense before he either puts the ball up with a post move, or kicks the ball out for another set play.

The better these 3 guys become, the more dangerous it will make Harden & Lin. Those 3 guys have the tools to be dangerous players, but its just going to take some time. Patterson obviously has the most competition behind him for minutes, so I look for him to really sink or swim this season when someone really starts pushing him for his minutes.

Its going to be an interesting 78 games.

I feel Cook should be brought in to spell Harden some minutes, instead of just running with Delfino or Douglas as they've done so far but I disagree, he is not that great of a 3 point shooter, he is a lot like Delfino in that he is streaky coming off the bench and will take a lot of shots that may not hit.

Cook is an inconsistent shooter. So is Delfino. The two are When Delfino is not hitting his shots and still thinks he is the Argentine version of Ray Allen, they might as well throw Cook in to see if he catches fire.

We should trade with Atlanta for some their shooters. I think they have a glut that do not get enough playing time over there.

Yea it really sux not being able to see the games here. I love watching all basketball but I can't stand watching the spurs play and unfortunately their the only team they televise here. Seriously considering just getting NBA league pass. You would think that since mchales not playin any of the rookies, he would play Cook more with him being one of the "more experienced" players on the young team, even tho he's only like what 25,26? On a side note yur right about San Marcos, been living/working here for 5 yrs now and I love it...the river, being close to Canyon Lake and New Braunfels, Austin just down the street too. As much as I miss and love Houston, im not planning on leavin SM anytime soon...
