Oh, the irony; the need for a dictionary... Our problem isn't paying James Harden $80,000,000. He'll be worth it when we have that second star and, sorry, a head coach that Morey acquired with a coupon. We have 3 rookie 4's not getting any burn, and at least one of them (Jones) could outplay those (Ppat and Mmorris) who ARE getting the minutes. Now, is old-school Kevin "now-we-might-win-games-since-we-have-Harden" McFail: (1) Gonna stick with "now-you-see-me, now-you-don't" games from Morris and Pitty Pat OR (2) Is he being respectful of their "veteran" status ("the starting job is yours to lose, but believe me, you'll lose it if I so deem it necessary"), OR (3) Is he playing them because they deserve a shot to show last year was a fluke for each and they can contribute to the team, OR (4) Because Morey is eyeballing a trade for a GOOD power forward (Horford? Millsap? Smith?) and doesn't want to yield all the supposedly-valuable rooks (Dmo, Tjones, Royce) when the other team's GM says, "Yeah, but MY guy played in an All Star game, so you better up your offer"? If we want to win now, they'd better come up with a real plan, because throwing Harden and Lin out there 40 mpg until they sprain an ankle or a knee whilst the forwards look like (quoting Randy Quaid from "Top Car", er, I mean, "Days of Thunder") "a monkey f***ing a football out there"---well, that ain't gonna cut it. EDIT: All this, despite the bare truth of this team being SO young and having no time together. Look at the Lakers. 1-4. (YESSS!)
The heads up is much appreciated & I am flattered that you agree with my posts. If you have a problem with the number of my posts please feel free to put me on your ignore list trust me I won't lose sleep over it. This goes for anyone else, if you feel that I am clogging the board ignore me. Please do it won't phase me one bit. Peace.
We need a lot more than 3pt shooters if our goal is to contend. No post scoring, no bench, etc. But we are not contending. So my only problem for now is about rookies not seeing any minute. But hey, the last 4 games have been pretty close so maybe they just dont wanna tank. And this is weird. Probably we should all stop mating and make room for the other species.
Among other things. The rockets don't have a very deep bench, if you haven't noticed. At least not if quality veterans is the criteria.
Isn't that what Daequan Cook is supposed to be? I don't know much about his game but I've always known or seem to always see him hittin 3's off double teams on Wade in Miami and Durant in OKC...But I haven't seen him play at all lately.( in San Marcos, I don't get to watch any of the games)
I wished we traded away Parsons instead of Jeremy Lamb! Whos with me on this one? Parsons has definitely regressed...
It's 3 games in and everyone is saying trade Chandler when they literally never saw Jeremy Lamb in a regular season game (in a rockets jersey). Stupid.
be prepared to see ALOT of 3 pointers tonight against memphis. Mchale will have 2pat sitting out there all night to keep randolph away from the rebounds ( he is leading league at 14rpg)
What we need is not a 3pt-shooter, it is a plan to get 1-2 more stars. And I am sure Morey is at it right now. We have few assets but lots of cap space. So right now Morey will try to get more assets and more cap space - this season is not important, the future is important. And if we suck this year and get a high draft pick, that might be just as good as finding our groove this year...
Bledsoe yes. Cousins no. Also why don't we play Cook? He is a deadly three point shooter. D-Mo isn't half bad either.
Yes, that's exactly what Cook is. Spot up 3 point shooter extraodinaire. However, McHale hasn't played Cook much at all, probably not to take minutes away from Parsons (A YOUNG PLAYER WHO NEEDS DEVELOPMENT). Cook could probably help this team win games, but there just isn't enough minutes to go around, and you take away valuable growing minutes from Parsons & Harden when you insert Cook into the lineup. -I feel your pain about San Marcos not getting Rockets games. I never understood why they didn't have a better network situation only being a couple hours from the city. I went to school there, and had to live through dealing with the Spurs universe around that part of Texas. That being said, San Marvelous has quite a few other things to make life easier on you. Man, I miss that place.
