You're only a week late with this. Congrats. FYI - did you even read the article? The science will surprise you.
I'm a huge Fabian fan, he came back from an awful injury and just flat out improved year after year. If he continues to develop his range he could get a cup of coffee in the league. More likely he will have a nice career overseas, but he's a helluva player.
Nah. I didnt really get past the hip thrusts. The way Chet and his team have played with his medicals turns me all the way off from him regardless of the company specific jargon his paid handlers push as newfound science. Without all the fluff the kid looks like he has decent lateral agility and as a skeptic its good to see him working, but Im picking Ivey over Chet at 3 if Paolo and Jabari are off the board.
3. Rockets: Paolo Banchero, F, Duke Height: 6' 10" | Weight: 250 | Age: 19 | Freshman 17. Rockets (from Nets): Tari Eason, F, LSU Height: 6' 8" Weight: 215 | Age: 21 | Sophomore 26. Rockets (from Mavericks): Jaden Hardy, SG, G League Ignite Height: 6' 4" | Weight: 200 | Age: 19
I love those 3 picks. This covers all our glaring holes. We get pg insurance, a long defender sf, and a strong pf/c all-star
https://nbadraft.theringer.com/mock-draft 1. Orlando — In last week’s mock, I reported that it’s not 100 percent that Jabari Smith will be the choice with the first pick and that the Rockets made calls about moving up. In the wee hours of Thursday morning, betting markets went from heavily favoring Smith to be taken first to now preferring Paolo Banchero, who all indications say is the preferred choice by Houston. Smith is now the favorite to go third. Has Orlando set its sights on Banchero? Or could the Rockets be moving up to first? If the Magic play their cards right, they might be able to land Smith at a lower pick while accumulating additional assets—sort of like how the Celtics effectively flipped Markelle Fultz for Jayson Tatum back in 2017. 3. Paolo Banchero I reported last week that the Rockets inquired about moving up from the third pick. And perhaps now they will. They have three first-rounders, a bunch of future picks, and youth on their roster. Jalen Green showed during his rookie year that he’s a rising star in need of a running mate. The Rockets’ choice here will help define Green’s path. Banchero is someone who could help him carry the offense since they can both work with or without the ball. Of all the top picks, Banchero is the most ready to get buckets as soon as he steps foot on an NBA floor. But he’s the furthest away from contributing on defense, which raises questions about his frontcourt fit next to Alperen Sengun and his ability to lead a top defense with Green. Drafting Banchero is a bet that he’ll become a leader on offense and good enough on defense. 17. Tari Eason Executives around the league keep connecting the Rockets to Eason with this selection. It’s also potentially a spot they could trade up from or out of. If Eason is indeed the choice, he makes perfect sense on a team with Jalen Green and Paolo Banchero since he can provide multi-positional defense and playmaking with size. Surrounding Green with lengthy defenders will be important long term, and Eason’s so potent off the ball that Houston would have the makings of a team that can put five players that can all handle on the floor at once. 26. Jaden Hardy Why not draft for upside? Hardy was a top high school recruit whose draft stock plummeted during a poor season with the G League Ignite. But at this point of the first round, someone could take a shot. In this mock, Houston has drafted a big in Banchero, a wing in Jalen Williams, and now a guard in Hardy. Maybe someday he’ll form a star backcourt with Green.
Not too bad, stronger then I thought... His squat is shaky looks like he just recently started strength training.
