Love watching it, but there is very little defense it is up and down, more like a summer league game.

Morris should dominate and he is.....

Yeah, I don't think so, I've seen some D-League games and I'm sure that the Summer Leagues are better than this. Honestly, this is a very poor level, at the SL you normally see the highest draft picks, some guys coming from Europe trying to gain a spot on an NBA roster... The quality of the team game is not much better but definitely you have more talent and more intensity.

Morris obviously has a talent to score from everywhere, what I've not seen at the D-League is a player able to challenge him, offensively or defensively. He's scoring at will and basically doesn't need to play NBA defense. You could see some defensive mistakes by MM, but who cares, at the D-League almost nobody is trying at 100%...

At least he will come back in good shape and with confidence.

 

Pretty low-level basketball play. About the only think I can see is he definitely has the ability to "rise up" and shoot the J, something we don't really have on this team right now.

 

Yeah, I am not sure he is quick enough to play the SF position yet, but if they want to bench CBud and find out...fine by me, this team is done anyway.

They should trade CBUd and Kmart to Minny for a future frist...

Except for the refs, they actually let the players play.... This is very high level compared to the Lakers game ...

He doesn't look good in transition D, even at this level. He's lost his man several times just trotting down into the paint while his man fades off into the corner for the open jumper. He just got beat on the ball at the top of the key with dribble penetration, didn't challenge at the rim.

And he definitely has Melo-itis in that he doesn't meet a shot that he doesn't like.

 

Yeah. He's got slow feet. Don't think he doesn't contest on purpose, though.

 

Wish the Rockets had Melo-itiis!

Can't get the game to work for what ever reason. Is Morris guarding Andre Emmit? He seems to be matching Morris almost point for point.

 

And much more efficiently. Morris is scoring by the bucketload but his usage rate is also insanely high. It can't be anything but good for him to get this experience, but perhaps people should temper expectations a bit; he's making a lot of shots but he's missing a lot of them too.

DM - Would not liked to be called a big man wants to play the 3, great start 30 points and double rebounds....looking good so far.

Announcer - Explain your orgs philosophy on the DLeague

DM - Our philosophy is you get better by playing, lots of our players have had success coming and playing here, Aaron Brooks, Patterson, and we like Morris playing, he has a lot of upside, but needs to get reps.

Announcer - talk about Finch.

DM - Finch is doing great on staff, tremendous edition on both sides, we lost in the finals last year in the Dleague with him as coach, we are lucky to have him on the Rockets - we think the developmental league is great for coaches, players everything, we are trying to get better as an organization, sometimes the best place to try things is here and bring them up to the big club.

Announcer - What do you think about the Dleague in general.

DM - Dleague continues to grow and get bigger and bigger, eventually will be like baseball rookie system where tookies expect to go down, that is how we at the Rockets are using it now, lots more flexibility with new rules and we look to take advantage of them.

ANN - thoughts on other players?

DM - Most talented showcase I have been at, early in the Dleague season not so much talent because good players were playing in Europe because of lockout, but lots of them are back and talent is much better than ever 13 players sent down so far including Morris, there are at least 20 NBA level players at least.
