ESPN: 9. Houston 24-14 Last Week: 8 Maybe this will be the week that the Rockets dodge an injury curveball after Chandler Parsons was unexpectedly forced to miss three games with a sore knee last week. Another problem in Houston: At a mere 13-11 against the rest of the West, they're living off a 11-2 record against the East. Yahoo: 8. Houston Rockets (24-14; last week's ranking: 7): Forward Chandler Parsons has missed three straight games with a sore knee, but worked out Sunday and is expected to play Monday at Boston.
It's a ranking based on how the team has been playing lately. Doesn't matter if a team has an average record. If they are playing amazing lately, they are ranked based on their most recent play. For example... Golden State has won 11 of their last 12 games, including a win over the Heat.
At a mere 13-11 against the rest of the West, they're living off a 11-2 record against the East. This is a good point.
Those 4 losses to the bottom 3 teams so far really hurt us. If we win just 3 of those were sitting at number 4 by ourselves and only 1.5 back from the 2 seed. Perception of the team by everyone is totally different.
The GSW had a long winning streak. The same can't be said about us. We are exchanging the letter W to L or L to W almost every second game.
They take into account the team's most recent stats. Toronto for a while was unstoppable. GSW have been going crazy balls since they got Igoudala back.
We are 2-0 vs GSW tho..they shouldn't be above us..they shouldn't be above the heat, spurs, thunder etc
Losing to the bottom feeder teams will be the Rockets undoing if they don't correct these avoidable lapses. It would be ridiculous for this team to find themselves in the same playoff position as last year or out altogether. Too much talent to end up the season that way. Injuries or no injuries, suck it up and just win baby. They need more grit and determination. They need Parsons to stay in the lineup.
