While Tony Parker looks like he's just having fun, Tim Duncan looks like he's really really enjoying the thought of putting a gun to Crawford's head....

So you agree its not an actual threat. And there was not intention for this to be made public. And it happened at a private party.

So why is this an issue again? Because of "symbolism"? Geez, please just leave that crap at your book club and stop letting it interfere with real life.

So if they dressed up as S&M with Stern then it would be ok?

Because the NBA wants nothing to do with guns. Period. They sure as heck don't want it within a week of a professional athlete committing a murder/suicide and a year after an NBA player was charged with murder.

I don't see why it matters whether or not they wanted it to be public. When you take a picture, you risk it being public.

So when NBA players talk openly about playing FPS video games, should the NBA take action against them as well?

I know Duncan and Parker aren't gang members. I know they don't advocate gun violence or gang culture. I can look at this picture and see that it "symbolizes" nothing but some adults goofing around at a private party.

The NBA doesn't really care what you think. More casual fans see this and it reinforces negative images of the NBA. They care about children who you don't know what they might take the image as.

I'm well aware that the NBA cares more about image than reality for business reasons. But when personal freedom of players to commit a harmless act comes into conflict with the league's hyper-sensitivity over their image, I'll side with the former.

Not everyone's children play COD all day. Mine have never played.

I do not let my children point fake guns at people (Water guns & Nerf guns excluded). Don't want bad habits when around guns.

Your overreacting to a picture that is not suppose to be taken seriously. Can't tell if you are playing devil's advocate or you are the real life Mrs. Lovejoy from the Simpsons? Always thinking of the children. They will be fine. Chill out.

Nope, just seen 2 different incidents where a kid shot another kid on accident with an unloaded fake weapon that resulted in injury. My stepbrother also shot his hand cleaning his unloaded gun.

    I don't like guns.

I didn't know that everybody hated Crawford... including the players.
