    The NBA will probably overreact and suspend them, in turn making it look much worse than it actually is.

    You're assuming that they gave permission for the picture to be taken and for it to be released publicly. What they do at a private party is their own business, so long as its legal.

    I'm sure they gave permission for it to be taken as it looks posed, but sure, I doubt they wanted it released. Unfortunately that's irrelevant. It WAS released.

    It is violent symbolism and it is across the line of acceptable.

    If you were to say "If only I were a vampire so I could suck so and so's blood" OR "If only I had a gun so I could shoot him in the face"

    Which of those two statements is going to be taken more seriously?

    Pointing a gun at someone's face is an obvious violent symbol. Pointing a fake a gun at the head of someone dressed up as someone else is an obviously violent symbol.

    Yes, we know they wouldn't be hanging with Joey Crawford. Just like we know those aren't real guns, and that Tony Parker and Tim Duncan aren't going around threatening to shoot people.

    The comparisons here are stupid.

    If Chris Brown had a picture taken at a party where he put a gun to the head of someone dressed up like Rihanna people would be outraged.

    If Mitt Romney took a picture at a party with a gun to the head of someone dressed like Obama there would be outrage.
