    1. Why do you people care?

    2. Why do you people pay attention to these?

    3. Doesn't anyone know that, until next June, the Lakers are 1st and everyone else is 2nd?

I'd put Phoenix higher than 24...Pistons a bit lower...SuperSonics lower than the Clippers...and the Magic a bit higher. But a pretty good list.

    1) I care because it keeps me interested in the game, analyzing the stats and rankings and predicting how it will come. It adds a whole new dimension to the NBA.

    2) See #1

    3) Ummm...no. I didn't know. Since there are so many other strong teams in the west, i can pretty much guarantee you that the Lakers won't have the best record this year.

    ...
the kings were #1 last year until the playoffs..
so they should be #1 till this years playoffs...
then.....i guess......even though its a technicality...because technically the lakers won the title...the lakers are the team to beat in the post season....after all they only fully show up for the post season not the regular season...
but the regular 82 game season...its all against the kings for the #1 seed, best team in the league

The Pistons should actually be higher on the list. I believe they are better than everybody thinks. New Orleans?....way lower.

That ranking is for now and Shaq isn't going to be available, possibly for nearly a month. And the Lakers haven't looked that great without him. And the Phoenix Suns are overrated.

We are better then the Pistons, New Orleans, and even the Nets. I think that if we were in the East we would be the Conference Champs.
