Next thing they want to do is for the players to tattoo ads on their bodies.

the next thing will be that the Houston Rockets will become the Toyota Rockets.
Denver will be the McDonald McNuggets.
    Orlando will be Disneyworld Magic
Sacramento will be the Burger Kings
Chicago will be the Red Bull Bulls

I would absolutely hate ads on jerseys and probably never buy or even want another jersey again if they added them. I wish they would just stop with this jersey modification/monetization crap. They already subjected us to those awful sleeved jerseys. Also, this isn't soccer, we already have to watch commercials.

Only if you vote with your pocketbook. Why should they ever stop if people keep giving them money? I'm doing my part. I haven't attended a game or bought merchandise in years. My tv viewership is falling off too. Ads on jerseys probably won't change my habits, but that's not a good thing for them. My interest is declining and they're doing nothing to pick it back up. They're expanding the revenue streams from an eyeball that looks at them less and less. But, with other folks, they're doing quite well. The corporate seats don't care if the players wear ads; they don't look at the court half the time anyway. And the tv viewership is still going great. There is no relief from monetization in sight, not until customers actually object.

The sport has been changed so much by the way it's officiated.
No physicality is allowed anymore. A hard boxout is considered flagrant.
It's an incredibly soft Currified league, where the Warriors are exempt from the moving screen rule, and Dwight is exempt from being allowed to set screens.
    The NBA sucks lol

I wouldn't actually mind that. At least Toyota puts out a consistent and reliable product unlike the current team playing in an arena of the same name.

The NBA are a bunch of greedy SOB's, they used to offer the radio games on NBA.com for free and now they charge 10 bucks to listen. Another example of getting the last dime out of fans.

Yep, it's just like everything. More and more charges/cost/money every year, for diminishing returns

Why are ppl acting like this is just now being discussed by the owners?

This has been in the works for years LOL

Tight, sleeved jerseys serve no other purpose than to display corporate insignia. Only issue was players had to test them in real games situations before the NBAPA would agree (something, something... BRI).

The testing (beta) phase is now complete. Only thing left is to "vote" on an already agreed multi-billion dollar marketing plan, and then it's market implementation via telecasts everywhere. That should happen next season or the one after.

Other American professional league owners have been watching intently and will follow suit.

There's nothing anyone can do to stop it. Only recourse is to stop watching, but market research has shown that enough 'fanatics' will keep tuning in to make this move a no-brainer.

    Yes, the conditioning is pervasive.

The Rockets have ugly enough uniforms. Now we have to see a stupid Toyota logo and an ugly Chinese shoe logo like Peak while all the big fancy cities will have Jordan jumpman logos and Nike logos.

Why are we so boring as a franchise? As a city even?

Well, I'm not buying any crappy jerseys with advertisements on them. This ain't soccer, I'll not be repping Qatar or anyone else that pays them money.

The NFL is greedy for money but even they haven't sunk this low.

You forgot to change the jerseys to sleeved who will also have some kind of ad on them too.

It will start slowly. First one small. Then after the public is more used, two small. Then three and every jersey will be sleeved and the unsleeved normal ones will be the "retro" to be worn in special nights. And then we change our name to the Toyota Rockets.
