For the past few years, the NBA 2k series have been significcantly better than live. While live is fun for a while with it's arcade action, the Franchise mode and actual actual realism of the gameplay is way off. The replay value for NBA 2k is just much higher. Especially the franchise mode where team don't give a crap and about the cap, and you have free agents like duncan signing one year deals for the minimum at the beginning of the season, just pathepatic.

To be fair, NBA live said they are trying to make the game more realistic and have a better franchise mode. But Ill have to see it to believe it.

just to let you know... Sega's NBA2K4 is now called "ESPN NBA Basketball" A little confusing now... I guess ESPN bought the rights from Sega. I haven't played this game but i think it's on sale now.

last year i bought live 2003. then i heard all the raves about 2k3, so i returned live 2003 and bought 2k3.
two days later, i exchanged it again for live 2003.
seriously, 2k3 was disappointing. although it was more "realistic", the gameplay got really boring after a while, and i just hate that spinning camera thing whenever possession changes. much to slow. the fun factor in live was so much higher.
    for 2004, i'm going live.

Wow, those photos REALLY look good. Damn, I can't wait to get this. I am thinking of grabbing both games. I really hope they fixed the flaws from 2003.
