Thought I would post this, as it's pretty cool to see what teams dunk the most, and what teams don't. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/miamiheat/post/_/id/4289/who-dunks-the-most-on-the-heat
All that list tells me is that dunking has no correlation with winning basketball. It might even show a negative correlation.
I understand dunks don't win games obviously...but last?! we're LAST?!!?! that sucks man, to be last in anything.
This should surprise no one. Our offense is VERY perimeter oriented and our starting bigs (Hayes/Scola) aren't dunkers.
Cool thread -- I had not seen this, and it's a little surprising to me. I guess Griffin is the big influence on LAC? It's kind of like when Barkley was first in the league and tried to dunk as much as possible. God but that was fun to watch. UTA is surprisingly high. Maybe that's why shoe leather face resigned?
Deandre Jordan also contributes a lot to that number. I'm pretty sure most of his points are off dunks.
Took me a looooong time to find the Rockets on that list. It's possible Blake & Dwight both finish with more dunks individually than Houston has as a team.
OKC is one of the top sides in the NBA, and they are quite high, but SA is the top side, and is quite low. Having a look at the list, the younger more athletic teams are near the top, where the older/non athletic teams are near the bottom. But so many surprises on the list, it's hard to work out.
