Man, Westbrook is playing out of his mind. His jumpshot looks much, much better, he's rebounding and making his teammates better without turning the ball over. It even seems to me, that he may have more upside than Durant has. If that jumper keeps improving, and he can mature and improve his decision making, watch out. He is an AMAZING talent.
Reggie Jackson is having the best game of his short career so far. He has improved so much since his rookie season.
There's times where Westbrook looks like the best player in the league, and then times where he just looks alarmingly stupid. Him taking more shots than Durant is the ultimate crime of the NBA.
Shake my head @ people blaming Westbrook! I'm not sure if they're serious or not. It was JR Smith and Durant not hitting his shots at the end that lost the Thunder this game.
I never said he was bad. He's VERY good. He'd be absolutely amazing if he just made better decisions. Jacking up shots down the stretch when you're down without even looking to really pass when you have the best scorer in the entire league is, in my opinion, not that smart. Taking 10 more shots than the best scorer in the entire league and only having 10 more points to show for it is also very strange. Take away 5 of those shots and give them to Durant, and I have a pretty good feeling that the Thunder win that game.
The guy finished with 37, 11, 8 on just 34 minutes. Sometimes you watch Thunder games and you understand why WB does take more shots. He's more aggressive and fearless. Durant sometimes goes into his hiding mode for some odd reason. B/c no one else can create shots, WB forces the issue. Today's game was a perfect example of that. For Durant to take that next step to challenge for best player, he MUST be more of an all-around player on both ends. He's a ghost defensively whenever he plays v. other elite offensive players. His counterpart Anthony had 12 boards and he only had 6.
But regardless of what you do on offense.... It's hard to beat anybody when you give up 125 points in regulation
Westbrook is arguably OKC's best player. He's the only reason they were even in the game in the first place. Everyone ready to eat crow regarding Melo btw? He would be scoring over 30ppg if he got the calls Durant gets. Knicks first 50 win team in over 13 years.
Not tonight. He didn't force anything and didn't try to do too much. He is just that talented. Durant, well he wasn't hitting his jumpers tonight so I am ok with Russell taking more shots, at least tonight because those were good shots. hell he scored 37...
