Carlisle is great. Top 5 coach. His 2004-05 pacers team might have won the finals if not for the malice at the Palace. His 2010-11 Mavs will always have a place in my heart. Yeah you read that last sentence correctly.

all you have to do is look at the mavs rosters the last 10 years since carlisle has been there.....at least half of those teams should not have made the playoffs...and they missed it a total of 1 season.

He made players who were done and "should retire" come to life and just looking at those rosters you can see it.

Definitely and it's sad the Rockets don't value great coaching. Dwill was said to be done along with many of these players. He gets the most out of that team and I think Dallas fans can rest easy knowing that their team will always go as far as their talent will take them.

Hate the Mavs but it's no surprise why they are still a respectable team. I don't think they are making any noise this year but that's not because they play bad. They play as well as they can and it's just that they don't have the talent of the LAC,OKC,GSW, or SAS or even MEM.

Also is it a coincidence that Deron Williams has played better under elite coaches Rick Carlisle and Jerry Sloan? Not at all, that stuff matters.

Which makes me wonder ... is Jerry Sloan available?

Damn, the Mavs have played 12 road games and only 7 home games. They might be better than I thought.
