Two actions from yesterday's game of OKC vs Sacramento. Westbrook still blatantly hunting for rebounds, leaving his man wide open and getting punished for that. Will we see another triple double season?
That didn't look like 'rebound hunting'. More like piss poor defense/defensive awareness. No clue how he's not scrutinized more for being a terrible defender.
I included only those two plays because his defense led to two baskets. Otherwise there are a few more examples when he leaves his man wide open, but the ball doesn't get passed there. Instead, RW even pushes Adams out of the way so he can get a rebound right after the shot.
I remember Kevin Love used to hunt rebounds like crazy when he was still with Minnesota. He literally wouldn't even put up his arm to contest the shot. Once the shooter started his shooting motion Love would just turn away and sprint to the basket to get that rebound.
Westbrook is a warrior. I don't know who put this video up, but please. The guy is a first ballot hall of famer and probably a top 5 point guard when it's all said and done, and yes he is better than harden. Although last year harden impressed me a lot, for the majority of his career harden has been a playoff choker. I only mention that because this board wants to hate westbrook so much because of the mvp, but in reality the guy is unreal. He also stuck with okc instead of jumping ship like that punk KD. I mean for real. Westbrook has my unconditional respect. Y'all tripping.
