Here's a name you haven't heard in a while: Kevin Martin. Scored 21 off the bench tonight to help his team win. First game of the season, I believe
OKC loses at the Knicks. I know Durant was out, but they can't afford losses like this if they're hoping to make the playoffs.
By itself, the Rockets beating the Mavs made this a great NBA evening. Cavs beating the Blazers without LeBron was the cherry on top. I don't want to be ridiculous and even consider the Jazz could hold on an beat the Clippers.
Just some groin pains. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Pelicans say Anthony Davis' injury suffered in third quarter before he returned to the game involved his groin.</p>— John Reid (@JohnReid64) <a href="https://twitter.com/JohnReid64/status/560646955806633984">January 29, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
lol "Most clutch player in the league" scores 14pts on 19fga.... so clutch... can't even beat the cavs minus Lebron
The Cavs are good. Even without Lebron, their efforts on defense is much better than 2 weeks ago. JR could be one of the best trade in this season in the NBA.
Of course Cleveland has been playing well lately and they are a good team but any team playing without their superstar and a max player will be at a major disadvantage... Portland is missing Lopez but that doesn't really equate.
Portland is missing all their inside presence, any team got out rebounded by the Cavs (even they are much improved lately on this) and with Kaman as your leading rebounder is an issue.
Lamarcus played... Bit of a red herring with saying Kaman was the leading rebounder, sure it's true, but it was 13 rebounds, and LMA got 11, a team that gets 24 rebounds out of its starting C/PF isn't one who was struggling for inside presence on the boards.
thats not true at all... they lack depth with Freeland and Lopez out but still have LMA, Kaman, Leonard and Trob to play the 4 & 5
