I still think they need a better back up point. But when their offense is on, it's so fun to watch !

Here's my question: What do the Rockets have to do in order to reach OKC's level? Do they even have enough resources to pull off what is necessary?

Morey often talks about the team's goal is to become a title contender and not just another 50ish-win team that really doesn't have a chance at winning the championship. Well, the team in everyone's way to the title in the Western Conference for the near/medium future is OKC. What do the Rockets have to add to get to that level?

Harden is a top 10-15 player. There are also other useful pieces and guys with upside, but getting to OKC's level is really really hard. I mean, Durant is likely the 2nd best player in the league, Westbrook is likely top 10 and Ibaka is likely top 30. All of them are young and improving. They also have a solid center, and great bench players in Collision and Martin. And lets not forget they can still improve with Jeremy Lamb and the Toronto pick (either of them has a chance to contribute directly to the team or be used as trade assets).

Do the Rockets have enough assets to even get close to that level?

Unlike Rudy Gay, the Rockets will not reach Kevin Durant or Oklahoma City's level.

Harden is not on durants level, but he is our scorer. We need an enforcer in the middle, someone like Deandre Jordan. We also need another scorer. If durant isn't on, usually Westbrook steps his game up and vice versa. The rockets struggle as harden struggles. So we def need someone else to take the slack. Problem is the rockets are so inconsistent (besides harden) it's really hard to say.

yeah good question. every year they have made it one more step in the playoffs, and more wins every regular season.

dont forget about the guy they got in the draft this year. he could be pretty good in few years to...

Rockets must get another elite perimeter scorer+creator to pair with Harden. That will get them within striking distance.

We're never going to be on OKC's level. Once they get rid of Perkins for a legit center and develop some of their younger prospects they'll be in the finals every year.

As good as Harden is he's no KD and Jeremy Lin definitely isn't Westbrook.

The refs should be given credit for how they have adjusted their calls on flops (and the players/league should be given credit), but the terribleness of those calls seem to have transferred over into really bad calls and non-calls on travelling, palming, etc. I've seen a few instances of players double dribbling in transition with no one around them that the refs just missed.
