According to draftexpress.com: No suprises so far, the only thing is that this tends to suggest Aldrich and Udoh are won't fall that far out of the lottery. Curious to see how the rest of it goes.
Yes as they said in this article, the NBA is more careful of picking someone that might drop off the map to avoid the embarrassment of a kid crying in the green room. So it's a fairly safe bet their picks are going in the first half or shortly thereafter.
Because they didn't think the Rockets were idiotic enough to draft Bryce Drew and Mirsad Turkjan before Lewis? I mean, seriously? Who even at the time thought those were good picks?
As I expected, Whiteside's draft stock plummeted after his workouts. I would rather have Larry Sanders.
Now you see EXACTLY why I don't want to trade up and coming proven players for risky ones.......now you get it. DD
Or the fact that he compared his game as being "KG on offense and Olajuwon on defense" and that his practices "went good" and his strength was his "length"
Why so? Because if the Rockets had taken the proposed draft day deal where we trade our 3 picks for #9 and #19, we would've gotten Paul Pierce and Rashard Lewis? And that's bad because...
You assume a whole lot.....no guarantee the Rockets would have taken Pierce and they blew it on Lewis...they had 3 shots at him.....and didn't take any.... Whatever, we will see what happens. DD
My point is that it's not the draft position that's bad, but rather the people making the decisions. Higher picks offer players with higher potential. Even though CD and Rudy can't draft worth a damn...(painful for me to say because I love both of from the bottom of my heart)... doesn't mean you shouldn't aim for those higher picks. Especially since Morey is a much better drafter than CD.
Apparently the first rinkle in the draft is being reported by Chad Ford (don't have link), but he claims Indiana is very high on Daniel Orton right now, so don't be surprised if he's invited to green room.
There are also rumors of Indiana trading their pick to Nuggets. I don't see how Indiana would draft him at 10. If he gets drafted by Indiana, I bet the Pacers trade down.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally wouldn't know how much Indiana values Orton, don't know if there drafting off need or best player available.
Maybe I'm just a horrible person, but I find it amusing when someone just plummets down the draft board. The last one was Darrell Arthur and he handled it remarkably well. They're going to be millionaires either way.
