Honestly don't think I'm being a homer when I say it's so blatantly obvious that Harden is the best SG in the league, and it's not even close. Put Klay or Butler on this team and we would plummet.
It seems like most of these guys do not watch the basketball games at all... All of them are knocking harden for his "defense" which has been really great. Sure he shows stints of his defense from last year but wow......
I don't see how this is even a serious discussion. The GMs voted a couple months ago and it wasn't even close.
The media isn't watching Rockets games, so the "Harden doesn't play defense" narrative is strong. We all know Harden is by far the best 2 guard in the NBA. Neither Thompson nor Butler could carry a team the way Harden does. The media also doesn't pay attention to stats other than PPG, APG, RPG so they don't reference Harden's defensive win shares. They also apparently don't pay attention to the supporting cast. While Thompson and Butler are very good, they are the 2nd options 9 their team. They don't receive near the attention Harden receives
Eh, he was picked in 8/14 (discounting the Mexican reporter who picked PGs) as the best. I don't think that qualifies as "no love."
Man Harden has to do so much for people to change their perception of him. You would think if they don't watch at least they would check stat sheets. 2 steal 1 block a game are pretty impressive numbers even if I don't watch games. Also no other 2 guard has the handles (Monta??) of James Harden so you can't rely upon them in game time situations to be "the" guy.
i want them to underrate harden all throughout the season. this way it would feel much better when they eat their own words come april and may and maybe june =P

Does that one guy, Juan Carlos Campos Rodriguez, know what a 2 GUARD is? He picked two point guards, Curry and Westbrook, above Harden...
Put Jimmy Butler or Klay Thompson on the Rockets instead of Harden and we'd be a .500 ball club at best instead of 11 games over .500 like we are right now.
Just because a player can shoit the ball at an elite level, doesn't make him a "complete" or "elite" offensive player. Saying Harden is an elite offensive player then saying Klay is just as elite is so cringe worthy, it's laughable. Klay is a nice player and can flat out shoot the ball, but he is no where the offensive genius Harden is. And now that Harden is putting an honest and really good effort on defense, it's a no brainer he is the best SG
clearly no one watches the games so they assume harden still doesnt play defense, even though when they look at his stats they see the 1bpg and nearly 2spg. idiots. what goes on in their heads when they see that "lol look at harden stats, whoa! 2 steals and a block per game? lol he still sucks at defense though"
