Agree to this. Also, will start calling Lin/Bev combo PB&J from now on. Thanks for that.

Damn, there are people really against the idea of trading Asik (plus stuff) for Rondo? Seriously? I'm the first one to talk about Rondo's various faults. But the guy is still all-star talent. Asik is not. It's always more preferable to have top talent with bad fit than a good fit with lesser talent. You can improve fit. You can't improve talent.

PG's don't win Championships. Bigs do.

    We need a PF.

In your case, you are talking about Rondo for Asik straight up trade. Heck, I would do that anytime anyday. But the problem is: that is not enough and Rockets may endure opportunity cost in some other options.

Rondo would do well in Houston, even though he is not an obvious fit. Maybe we can steal Bass from them too, and our 4 position would be solid.

I was thinking along the lines of Asik, Jones, Beverley, 2 1st rounders, and rights to some of our European players. Which wouldn't hurt us during our contending years but perhaps enough incentive for Boston, depending on what other teams are offering.

I originally thought we may be able to send less but take on Gerald Wallaces' albatross contract. Unfortunately, we can't make that work unless we send both Lin and Asik. Not willing to do that.

What? Steve Kerr, Mario Chalmers, Fisherman, Isiah......a lot of those rings were the direct results of great plays by the small people. I know what you mean though.....

That's way too much for Rondo. Asik + 1st rounder should be enough.

Look...you have all 4/5 positions filled with players that can easily contribute 20+ points on any given night....adding a 4 with a solid offense and great defense is the best route Houston should take. Rondo is great, but in all honest probably just a bit above Lin's level....not worth it.

If we send them Lin and Asik, i'm sure Morey would want Bass or Sullinger in a packiage with Rondo.

LOL...is right, Rondo isn't CP3 (playing circles around Lin). Lin pretty much faired pretty well with Rondo in all of their matches post-Linsanity. Rondo is not the solution for Houston plain and simple.

Perhaps....but that 4 spot is Houston's biggest problem.

What we need is a 4 who can stretch the floor.

Rondo tore his ACL in January and isn't playing anytime soon.

He was recently cleared for some contact, it could be sooner than you think. I personally think the Celtics will try and keep him out as long as possible to get more ping pong balls.

Actually defense is our biggest problem, the 4 spot is a distant second.

Then you just have to hack Howard and Rondo all night long. :)
