If I'm not mistaken ... we'll play 1) Every team in the East twice (1H, 1A). 2) Every team in the West 4 times (2H, 2A) except 3) 3 times against: -- a) 2 teams in the NW division: Den (2H, 1A), Minn (1H, 2A) -- b) 2 teams in Pac div. GS(1H, 2A), LAC (2H, 1A)
Unless their is a muncipal ban in your area your landlord can not stop you from putting up an anntena. The only stipulation you have is it must not exceed 12 feet above the roof. If you want the exact info. go to the FCC.GOV website and search for anntena's.
Wonder what is the factor that decides whether you play a team 3 or 4 times in the same conference, but different division. There is a huge difference whether you plan the Kings or Clippers, T-wolves or Supersonics. Those couple of wins can be the difference between playoff and lottery.
It sucks in Austin because a majority of people here are either Mavs or Rockets fans. No one in Austin seems to be a Spurs fan, yet we are stuck with their games. Damn geography.
Hey, did I miss the preseason schedule or something? Last year's Rockets.com had it included with the regular schedule...anybody know when that national TV preseason game against the Kings in China will be? Really, what I want to know is - how much longer do I have to wait before I can see a non-local Rockets game?!?
Dude, go to Crown & Anchor during the playoffs. I almost got into a fight there with a group of obnoxious Spurs fans last year. It seems to me like there are far too many Spurs fans in Austin. Not as many as Rockets and Mavs fans, I agree with you about that. But seeing as how tons of people come from Dallas and Houston for school and tech jobs, yet hardly anybody comes here from San Antonio to go to UT or get a job with Dell, there shouldn't really be any Spursers. That geographic broadcast crap seems to be breeding them or something.
I thought this was neat: As part of Rivalry Week, TNT will feature a doubleheader on Thursday, Feb. 24 as New York hosts Philadelphia at 7 p.m. ET, followed by Sacramento at Dallas at 9:30 p.m. ET, a renewal of their playoff rivalry from the past two seasons. NBA TV will televise other key matchups during Rivalry Week, rekindling historic playoff rivalries including: Boston at the Lakers on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 10:30 p.m. ET Indiana at New York on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET Utah at Houston on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. ET The Lakers at New York on Monday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET http://www.nba.com/schedules/schedule_040802.html#rivalry
The good news about the tough early schedule is that Yao has been starting the season pretty strong and fading in March and April. With the schedule lightening up in those months he may get some reprieve for the playoffs.
On the other side, a softer early schedule will allow larger margin of error for Yao and Tmac to play together. That way we could build some checmistry/momentum/confidence for this new roster.
I think it's more like Yao starts out at a the beginning of the season as halfway decent. But he keeps on getting better, until right after the allstar break, when he starts dominating. He then loses steam in the last month of the season. I have a good feeling about this year though. He no longer has the old CNT marathon practices, since Del's the coach. And it seems that his required trim down to 300 lbs, should help out interms of stamina and quickness.
Austin must've changed a lot in the two years since I've lived there. Of course, Spurs fans only come out of the woodworks when they win a championship...
I thought there was also a green jersey with gold letters, but maybe that was pre-Houston??? I'm leaning toward anything with green and gold.
I'm guessing they rotate it over a number of years. This year it's Denver, Minny, Warriors, and Clips. Next year it might be Utah, Phoenix, Lakers, and Portland. Something like that.
