Once you get to the top echelons the arguments become more subtle and there isn't really a right answer, but I like the Clippers over OKC to be honest. They're better coached and they have better ball movement.

OKC suffers tremendously from their stagnant half court offense, but Durant and Westbrook are so good that it still puts them comfortably within the current triumvirate of the league.

Rockets need to figure out how to beat Spurs, Clippers and OKC if we want to make it to the WCF.

For the Mavs, they have them ranked that high assuming they are getting the DPOY Chandler... Yes, he will be motivated this year but I doubt he can return to that form again.

Parsons wasn't the only signing. I think the media are putting a lot of stock in Tyson Chandler returning.

Mavs at 4 is way too high. Bulls are still a big question mark but I still like their chances of having a better record than us more than the Mavs, Blazers and Warriors.

Outside a Love to GS trade, I like us at 6. Spurs, Thunder, Clippers, Cavs and Bulls I can see finishing with a better record than Houston. Blazers finishing ahead of us would take another magical year like last with next to no injuries.

Mavs lost significant contributors in Carter (ageless?), and Calderon. At best, they are no worse or better than last year, but I think they are slightly worse off.

To be ranked 4th is a clear indication of the author's delusion. Please pass the bong...

Man I guess Parsons is the next Larry Bird or something because no way Mavericks should be top 5. Even if they add another solid piece, they still probably outside looking into the top 10.

    Good post I agree.

Why are the Mavs so good? They lost a big part of their core, and they weren't that great last year. This is overrating them because they took the Spurs to 7 last year.

The Blazers are not that good. Sure they beat us last year, but that was mostly because of mistakes by our team. I doubt they will finish above us.

Why does the media overrate GS. LAst year they were also so high on them. But what did they to adress their weakenesses, other than hire a rookie coach? Again they are betting on them staying healthy? And AI is already a year older.

I think that we will not be worse than last year, I think Ariza fits better in the team than Parsons. And I expect Morey to make a couple more moves to improve us.

Wonder what our ranking could've been if Bosh signed with us and kept Parsons.

Tyson Chandler definitely is falling off but you can't judge his value based off stats. This is another example of stats NOT telling the whole story

Rockets don't deserve much respect after their embarrassing playoff performance. Mavs are too high, but it's not ludicrous for them to be higher than Houston. We only won 5 more games than them last season.
